I love this song. It’s fun and light and catchy…and girly, but for some reason, and maybe you can explain it to me, it’s a song that even guys adore. That’s why I bring it up here in this awesomely funny blog full of wickedly amazing followers and ask you, what makes a hit a hit?
This singer, Carly Rae Jepsen, was reportedly discovered by Justin Bieber. A fact that would instantaneous create haters, normally, but not this time.
Here is a video of an entertaining group of Harvard baseball players on a road trip singing Call Me Maybe and you’ll see what I mean about this song being a hit among guys. (Posted on youtube by Connerhulse)
And here are some more baseball players, this time Florida Gators (posted on youtube by 321Baseball):
And even more entertaining, is our current President, Barack Obama, and all I’ll say here is this is hilarious but someone has too much time on their hands! (posted on youtube by Baracksdubs)
Have a wonderful Monday and Happy Bloggin’ Ya’ll!

Think I heard it today for the first time, but you’re right. It is indeed a catchy tune
This song resonates a theme that ALL guys have had to deal with … over and over. Call me? Maybe?
Ok, I’m confused now…or still…..lol, I thought it was the guy who said he’d call, but then never did??
I love this. The song is infectious. Like a bad tooth, but I kinda dig it. The first video tickled me to pieces.
Haha, love that analogy!! I sort of relate all of Justin Bieber’s song to that, as well…kinda painful to love, but I just can’t help myself. (This is our little secret, right Rheath40??)
I just found a song by Justin Bieber that I love. I hate myself for it. But oh well everyone must have at least one guilty pleasure. And my name is Renee, sweetheart.
Well good to “meet” you Renee! What is the Bieber song?? Do tell so I can also sing along!
Here it is love. As long as you love me
We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke
As long as you love me
I’ll be your platinum, I’ll be your silver, I’ll be your gold
(Hey I know know this is a Justin Bieber song. I hate the boy. I know he’s what’s wrong with music today. But dammit, I like these words.)
I don’t blame you one bit! I’m going to go look this one up….sigh. I just know I’ll be addicted, too. LOL
Yes darlin’ you will. Wink, wink.
I love that song, ridiculously catchy! I like the Obama version the best!
You and I share the same sense of humor. That was my favorite as well and I played it over and over again. Not only was it funny, I just couldn’t get over the work it must have taken someone to go through all those clips looking for one little word! Impressive!
My favourite part of the whole thing is the guy in the first Harvard video asleep in the back through the whole video! Also, I saw her live at a free festival in Canada a couple of weeks ago.. she is very good live but says the most cringe worthy comments between her songs!
I did wonder what they told the guy when he woke up…..or showed him with the wonderful video technology of the cell phones. haha…poor fella, just minded his own business LOL
Too funny – AND I just downloaded this song earlier today! These folks have just WAY too much time on their hands
Amen penney and what great timing on our parts! Kudos to US! haha.
Every guy I know (including me) loves this song! I love the ending to the original video.
Oh wow! So many smiley faces…I must go watch the original video to see what the excitement’s all about!
Loved the Harvard team! If you check out my blog on May 25… I’ve been having a lot of fun with this song since my daughter downloaded for me! Such a great workout song!
Great minds think alot asklotta and I’m priviledged to be in that club with you! LOL. I love the harvard video too. Just awesome that these macho kids would do something like this without worrying about other people’s opinions. Kudos to them!
Yes, yes, yes! Showing their darling side on the road…kudos to the choreographer! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when one of them came up with this “YouTube idea!”
First of all, I am Canadian and so is Carly Rae Jepson. She a contestant on Canadian Idol and did not win. However, she was my favourite and I had a feeling she would emerge on the music scene and make an impact. This delightful singer is from Vancouver and Justin Bieber (another Canadian) has been her mentor. How cool is that! Thanks for highlighting this delightful song and this even more delightful singer. She so deserves it!
THAT is awesome and congrats to you for recognizing talent. The song and the singer are just absolutely adorable and I hope she goes on to have many more success. Not sure if this part is true, but I heard she was still waiting tables when her song was playing on the radio in the US. What a cinderella story!
lol! Gotta say, President Barack is my favourite! Watched it with my two little guys and they’re telling me to post it on FB! lol! Thanks for sharing.
LOL, anytime! I thought it was hilarious!
You and millions of others would like to know what makes a “HIT”…
But I’m the only one asking!
LOL
The song is catchy, doubtlessly! The Obama version is the best [Winks]
